Not high quality by any means. Stamped steel with chips out of the blade edge and rough spots on the spine. After 30 minutes or so on a whet stone it is sharp where is should be and smooth on the spine. I haven't had a chance to really put it through a workout yet but it did hold the edge chopping vegetables. I think this shape knife is the perfect chopper, just enough curve to allow for easy movement and enough weight to help cut through thick meats. Definitely with the price, just don't expect high quality.
